Experience OCT LIVE at Optrafair to build diagnostic confidence – extra slots added due to popular demand!
Heidelberg Engineering is bringing its popular OCT LIVE peer discussion format to Optrafair for the first time on the 1-3rd of April. The CET accredited sessions will take place on stand, G20 (across from the CET theatre), and feature three real patients who will be scanned live on the big screen by the SPECTRALIS Imaging Platform. Extra time slots have now been added due to popular demand!
Three different OCT LIVE themes will focus on retinal disease, glaucoma management and “a day in the life of a Birmingham optometrist” with Peter Waite from K.G. Miles Optometrists. Participants will be guided through the patient journey, from how multimodal imaging can provide the information needed for referral refinement to interpreting images and making confident patient management decisions.
All sessions are CET accredited with 3 peer discussion points and will be capped at no more than 15 people per session. Register now:

Eminent retinal specialist encourages Optometrists to take a multi-modal diagnostic approach
Professor Usha Chakravarthy, Retina Specialist from Queen’s University Belfast, will feature on the main stage at Optrafair on Sunday 2nd April at 11:45 am. Professor Chakravarthy is at the forefront of pioneering research including the NICOLA study, a long term study looking at the effects of aging on the eyes which will help shape major government healthcare policies in the future. Professor Chakravarthy’s lecture will explore how multimodal imaging can increase the optometrist’s diagnostic confidence and improve patient care through early disease identification. Interpretation of retinal pathology using the latest fundus and OCT imaging techniques will be discussed as well as the results of her recent research on patient management in the community care setting.”
